Bowen Therapy encompasses a series of gentle movements over soft tissue – muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. These points stimulate specific receptors to restore balance and correct any dysfunctions in the body. There are frequent pauses between the moves, whereby the practitioner leaves the room for a couple of minutes. This allows the body time to integrate the Bowen moves, and respond to them.
Bowen Therapy addresses many musculoskeletal problems including (but not limited to) muscular tension, sciatica, pelvic pain, scoliosis, plantar fasciitis, jaw dysfunction and shoulder problems. It also works on internal systems including the digestive system and nervous system.
